Three Generations of Facility Leasing: Strong Ties to the Tri-Cities Region

In 1919, Jeffreys Cozart came to Southwest Virginia with the American Tobacco Company, which was distributing burley tobacco seed. In 1922, Jeffreys opened his first tobacco warehouse (Farmers Warehouse, Inc.) on Main Street in Abingdon. He was later joined in business by his son, Jim Ed Cozart. Over the years, the Cozarts opened more tobacco warehouses in Abingdon, Weber City, Johnson City, and Rogersville.

Jim Ed's sons, Edward and Michael, now own and operate the business. As business needs changed, many of the warehouses were transformed into storage, distribution, and light manufacturing. We currently have 20 warehouses with over 1.5 million square feet of industrial floor space.
